John Duchesneau has responsibility for overall management, supervision and operations of the company. Along with leading new product development and customer acquisition initiatives, John has led the planning and execution of targeted investments including two multimillion-dollar capital improvements to the plant and distribution system. John began his career at Xerox, where he worked in facilities operations and project management, as well as serving as Senior Supplier Manager for the company’s Construction and Energy purchases. He holds a Master of Science degree in Management from Keuka College and is a Certified Purchasing Manager.
James Bauer began his career as a Stationary Engineer in 1994 through a cooperative training program between Rochester District Heating and the International Union of Operating Engineers. He continued his career as a Stationary Engineer at the Xerox Webster campus before returning to Rochester District Heating in 2017. James holds a 2nd Class Stationary Engineer License and a Grade 3 Refrigeration Operators License with the City of Rochester. James oversees the operations, budget, maintenance, and safety at the plant as well as the supervision of the Stationary Engineers.
Stephanie Samuel provides engineering analysis and design with a focus on energy and efficiencies for company-wide operations including the plant, distribution system, customer connections, and strategic projects. Stephanie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from Rochester Institute of Technology. Stephanie recently obtained the prestigious designation of Certified Energy Manager through the Association of Energy Engineers.
Kurt Hedrich joined RDH in 1989 as a Local 13 Plumbers and Pipefitters-Schooled Mechanic/Steam Pipefitter. After 19 years of maintaining RDH’s distribution systems, he was promoted to Distribution System Supervisor. In 2017, Kurt was elevated to the role of Distribution System Manager, taking full responsibility for the safe and reliable operation for RDH’s distribution systems, including all piping, manholes, and building connections.
Ryan Macauley provides financial leadership and in-depth financial analysis for the organization. In his role, Ryan oversees the day-to-day financial management of the company including general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, budgets and forecasting, payroll, and other management functions. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from St. John Fisher College. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Debbie Phillips provides full administrative support for the organization, including payroll and human resources functions, accounts payable and receivable, member communications liaison, and event coordination. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Geneseo.
